Katie waiting in a hot car trying to sleep before her final stage, Jess in the bar slurping down her favorite beer Pseudo Sue, me wandering around wanting to order the tater tot pizza, Matt riding..were we falling apart near the end? Fuck no.
Matt flew in and Katie took off. Now it’s starting to heat up. Time to head to the last transition spot. Where’s Jess? I found her under a bar stool mumbling “I shouldn’t have had that beer”.
The last transition spot was in a ditch near a corn field with no shade. Let’s go Katie, we don’t want to wait here long. Katie shows and Matt takes off on his hilly 44 mile stretch. Katie tries to clip out of her pedal and almost falls over. She has to get out of her shoe and we throw the bike on the car with her shoe still clipped in.
