10/4 64 miles from Bridgton ME to Bath ME (a few miles from the Ocean). Beautiful weather to off set the spiky hills and poor roads.
I continue to stay at really nice places now that Mike is gone:

My brother Mike did a total of 1376 miles in 17 days. That’s around an 80 miles per day average with no days off. I told you he was a tough SOB regardless of his 72 years.

Despite being sick the last few days Mike kept at it. I asked him why the hell he was doing this and he said because you told me you needed me. How many would do all those miles through way above normal heat and still have enough left for most of the Eastern Mountains. Thanks, Mike. Maybe we can do something fun next time.
I have read every word of your adventure/saga, Kevin, and you are my hero. Couldn’t be prouder to call you my friend. And your brother Mike, whom I hope to meet one day, seems magnificent. And he even writes poetry. Amazing genes, indeed. What an inspirational journey you have led!!!

Thanks. That means a lot to me as I’m sure it does to Mike also.

EPIC SHIT
whatever works, coffee or a prune
pick my poison but I must make room
for calories needed to replace what I’ve used
to nourish the quads I have constantly abused
important also to work on the timing
prevent the chance I soil the lining
of bike shorts worn day after day
despite holes caused by rivets clawing their way
to skin once smooth as a princess butt
now red rough and sore from being constantly cut
