The last state

10/3 70 miles from North Woodstock NH to Bridgton ME.  Biggest climb in the East first thing and then a bunch of short spiky SOB’s the last 10.

Now that Mike left me I’m staying in much nicer places. View from the backyard:

SOTD, has stood for a few things: Savior of the day, Saint of the day and now I have a new one: Savior of the Decade

Charlie and Jacie Hurd have hauled all my partner riders to and from the Course. Peter, John and now Mike have utilized their beyond category hospitality and help.  They happened to be hiking in the White Mountains this week and they not only fed me a great roast beef sandwich and a coke but they picked up Mike at the hotel and dropped him off at the Manchester airport. Saints of the decade for sure.

The minute I made it to Maine I faced a 4 mile backup on the road due to the Fryeburg ME Fair. The oldest Ag Fair in the country.  Luckily I was able to ride by it all on the shoulder. 250,000 this week in a little town of 3000.

And Finally proof that I did one of the meanest mountain passes in the East

  1. Stunningly beautiful fall colors—happy that the wall rides up habe proven worth it! And when this is all done you have to tell us what the least must pack stuff is so we leave all the rest behind. Everybody you bike with seems to ship stuff home. Less is more !
