The Great Lakes

9/27 84 miles from Medina NY to Sodus Point NY HOT again and favorable wind in the afternoon.

Sodus point is almost completely surrounded by Lake Ontario.  I started really thinking about all magnitude of these Lakes.

1/5 of the fresh water surface on the planet and 6 quadrillion gallons of water.  They should be called the mega-awesome lakes.

While riding on the journey I’ve seen Lake Superior, taken a ferry across Lake Michigan, riden along side of Erie and now Ontario.  I was within 1.5 miles of Huron but I never saw it.  These Lakes are truly unique to Canada and the USA.  Many of the USA’s most critical cities are also on these Lakes.

Tons of history also. I wish I had more time to understand and explore.

I love some of the old historical signs.  White men and Indians.  A game the boys played who grew up in the 50s and early 60s.

We are staying at a really tired B and B.  The owners don’t try to hard and maybe that’s why it’s for sale. It couldn’t be all these cute dogs.
