Water water everywhere and plenty of drops to drink

9/26 86 miles Port Colborne, Ontario to Medina NY. F ing hot again.  Tomorrow is hopefully the last day of highs that are 22* above normal.  Mike may get to wear some of the 15 lbs of cold weather clothes he brought. I may need to borrow some.

We started where the Welland Canal empties into Lake Erie and ended on the beginning portion of the Erie Canal.  We rode along the Niagara river and crossed the border into the USA, north of the falls.  My brother didn’t want to stop and see the falls because he was afraid the salt spray would compromise his bike. I reminded him that his frame was made of carbon fiber and so it wouldn’t rust like my Trek.  So we got to see the falls.

Another poem by MS:

Just another jujube day

My brother expounding on what I couldn’t say

A steep ascent my lungs gasping for air

I look up for a moment and he’s suddenly not there

How could it be in a flash he’s so gone

Biopace equipped what could go wrong

The truth becomes obvious, it’s not my gears

The time has come, I’m drowning in years
