It “REALLY” started today

Marblemount Wa to Mazama Wa.  8/20 74 miles ?

Still checking mileage but we know we started at 500 ft and Washington Pass is at 5477.  No water or food available for entire trip, so our water ran out. At Rainy Pass 3 dudes and 2 dogs in a shit Datsun gave us a jug of water and saved our ass.

The last 17 miles were down hill thanks be to Allah, some at 7 % grade, weee. Peter was the star of the day. Not only did he climb well but when I thought we had another 15 miles to climb to Washington Pass he told me it was about 5. I told him to quit shitting me, but he was right. Tilly, pray to Allah.

At Washington Pass we met Al Couffer on a motorcycle.  He told Peter that he was on his 5th Marriage and all his Exes knew each other. We couldn’t decide whether this was sad or good.Al made IPOTD (Interesting person of the day)

Al may you succeed in your attempt to retire. But Dude you need to cut back on this Marriage deal.

  1. Yeah…H2O management is definitely one of those pesky details…😏

So great to kinda be with you during this…you always wrote with flavor, so we’re definitely getting a feel of this!

Also guessing you’re getting a taste of why I’m here now vs. ‘there’…1 year last week…sooo happy!

Keep having fun and savoring ALL the moments!
